You guys. I broke.

Well, I mean, I broke a bit. DON’T JUDGE ME.

What I’m saying is, I went shopping.

But it had been a really long time, you guys. Like, a couple months since a legit shopping trip. Okay, okay, we all know I would pick up the random thing here or there. I’m not a robot, for goodness sake.

This weekend, though, this weekend had a legitimate, can’t-call-it-anything-else shopping trip. If this was a movie in the mid-’80s, this song would have been playing in the background:

Or, possibly, this song:

Because, you guys. I love shopping. (I also love puppies, getting my hair did, and the color pink. Because I’m a girl.)(Ugh.)

But, I’m also still reasonably practical. Which means I was not just blowing my money at any pretty piece of cloth that crossed my path.

No, friends, I had a plan. And, more importantly, a list. A specific, Pinterest-fueled list to guide me on my journey.

And for once, I actually found every single thing I wanted. Which is amazing, considering I usually invent articles of clothing in my head that don’t actually exist and then get frustrated when I can’t find them at Macys.

AND I kept to the budget I had decided on before I embarked. So now I have everything I could ever want for fall! (Okay, still don’t have the perfect black bag…can’t have everything.)

I don’t know why I’m telling you this. Probably because I’m excited/feel bad for not posting in a while. Work is a little nutty this week, and I’m reading a good book again, so obviously blogging is falling by the wayside, per usual. I’ll work on it.

Anyone else want to spew joy about something new they’ve bought recently? This is a judgement-free zone. (Plus, we can live vicariously through each other!)

I broke down and bought some new shoes for work yesterday. They are pretty much the best shoes ever and I want to wear them all the time. I went looking for a good boot to wear with my leggings and skinny pants, but no dice on those…

  • I love this post!! I hardly ever go shopping because we have too many things to put our money towards (like extra payments on those damn student loans and saving for a house/new car!) but I LOVE when I’m on a mission to get one or two KEY items that I’ll wear over and over again and I find them WITHIN budget.

Thank you for being so real and talking about your budgeting/shopping openly. I read so many blogs and these girs are like, “Oh I went to the mall today and grabbed these amazing boots and this adorable coat! $300 later…” ummmmm I love it, and it’s cute, and I wish I could do that. So thank you for being so real about all of this! Now post some pics of your new items!
